Barry Cryer
08th May 2013 - 0 comments
I had the pleasure of photographing Barry Cryer speaking at the Bridgend Business Forum at Coed y mwstwr Hotel, Bridgend.

A lovely gentleman who had time for everyone who wanted to chat to him. His talk was as expected hilarious and crammed packed full of anecdotes and names and information that was spellbinding to watch. His delivery was as quick and as sharp as any young comedian on the circuit to day, a remarkable man.

De Courceys Wedding Photography
07th May 2013 - 0 comments
Just had one of thee best wedding shoots at De Courceys, Cardiff. Emma & Matt Selby were a great wedding couple to work with. A photographer can only work with the material they have and Emma & Matt were up for some great dramatic emotive, creative wedding pictures.

Becks (my partner Rebecca) and I managed to create a great series of images in a very short space of time with the help and co-opertaion of the lovely staff at De Courceys.

Here are just a short set of my favourite images taken, more can be seen on our Wedding Blog Page (link up soon)

PLus there will be a full gallery of images available for friends and family to view and purchase images from, once Matt & Emma are back from the Egyptian Honeymoon and have themselves received their Discs of the 14000 images.

Nathan Stephens Paralympic World Champion Javelin thrower
05th May 2013 - 0 comments
I had the great pleasure of photographing Nathan Stephens a true inspiration to any young athlete at the recent Exhibition Naidex at the NEC last week.

Nathan had quite a controversial time over the qualifications of the Olympics in 2012 and as such never realised his dream of winning Gold on his own patch. He is determined to put this right and is aiming for Gold in Rio.

New Wedding Venues for 2014 & 2015
12th April 2013 - 0 comments
I love the creative challenge of new wedding venues to work at.

I always study new venues both by visiting the venue about a week or two before the wedding and around the time of the ceremony/reception so that i get the feel of the conditions and best spots for both group shots and Bride & Groom photo shoot and studying other photographers work to see what works and more importantly what doesn't!

This goes for even the furthest afield venues such as Northbrook Park in Surrey which I visited a year prior to walk the grounds and take plenty of test shots.

So far the new additions to my wedding venue list for which Ive been booked are:

Pencoed House Cardiff, Old Walls Gowerton, City Hall Cardiff, New House Cardiff & Nash Point Lighthouse.

Laura & Luke Wedding Photography at the Village Hotel Swansea
29th March 2013 - 0 comments
Had a very cold wedding in Swansea recently, but what a bride & groom. Nothing was going to put them off, they were open to all ideas and Laura in particular appreciated the short term cold was worth the perseverance compared to a lifetime of great pictures!

The Village Hotel have great staff and the local registrars were both accommodating and warm. The service was lovely and the room looked stunning.

Not deterred by the weather, off we went to Neath Abbey for some great pictures along with a short stint later on in the evening down by the docks and a great red wall I found on my pre visit which i knew would provide a dramatic fashion styled set of images.

The overall results can be viewed in our Wedding Blog but Laura & Luke have over 700 quality pictures to treasure for the rest of their lives and it was pleasure helping them capture them.

Public Dancers
29th November 2012 - 1 comment
This is the first in a series of images depicting dancers, gymnasts etc in every day situations performing, not very every day movements!

I have been inspired by an American photographer Jordan Matters. In this first series several of the scenes are based on Jordan's inspiration where as others are from my own creative ideas.

I will be developing a whole series of images along these lines. There will also be themes within a theme. For example I intend to create several sets of images where the backdrop of the town or city will play a large part within the composition. Title Bridgend Public Dancers, Cardiff Public Dancers etc.

The whole set will culminate in an exhibition of work, plus possible entry in to several artistic photographic competitions and even submissions for recognised photographic awarding bodies.

Each of these prints are available for purchase signed in 18in x 12in high quality photographic print paper at £25 each. For multiple purchases of two or more they become £20 each

Pelican Inn, Ogmore by Sea Web Site Shoot
11th January 2012 - 2 comments
I recently carried out a shoot for Steve Fisher the publican at the lovely Pelican Inn opposite the Ogmore Castle.

The pub has an excellent restaurant and superb bar areas. It offers outstanding food and it gives the feel of a warm friendly country pub.

I wanted to capture this atmosphere in the images I have taken for The Pelican.

I have attached a few samples here but the rest will be able to be viewed shortly on the updated web site of the Pelican Inn.
Thank you Gavin

Recently I helped with the installation of an amazing handcrafted 12 seater Dining Table & Chairs for a friend and sculptor Craig Sheppard to the home of Gavin Henson.

I was commissioned to take some commercial shots for Craig and only in passing I asked Gavin would he pose for me for my web site. I was so impressed with his relaxed demeanour and his willingness to help us out. I hope he likes his picture now!
