Portraiture
Portraiture is probably my most loved genre. I was an artist first prior to becoming a photographer. So I guess I've always had an affinity to portraiture.
To capture the very essence of someone and for the portrait to become the living memory and family heirloom, is such a meaningful thing to do.
The sitting can last between 30 to 45 minutes. I use a range of lighting and hand painted backdrops along with a variety of seating and even rugs to create the scene.
The image itself is captured on the state of the art Medium Format Mirrorless Camera, the Fujifilm gfx 100sii. A 100 megapixel camera with vintage manual focus lenses to create that depth and feel that is timeless, producing almost painterly effect portraits.
As we take the photographs they are being transferred instantly on to the large computer screen in the studio. This way you can see how you are doing and we can make adjustments accordingly. Before leaving you select your favourite (or favourites pending on how many you opted for in your package) I then edit this image (or 3) and send this to you via our private gallery. You can also opt to purchase a high quality paper print at 16x12in which will be ordered and sent direct to yourselves.
